Here are some resources that you might find useful in your PTA work:
Find out all about PTA+ in Episode 27, where I chatted to Carol Rogerson who is the editor of the website and the School Fundraising magazine. I think PTA+ is the best website for independent information and support for PTAs. I would highly recommend looking around this website as it's crammed full of information on all sorts of things - fundraisers, step-by-step guides, new ideas and how you run and manage a PTA team. Don't forget to have a read of the School Fundraising magazine which is published 3 times a year. You can also link to FundEd from here which is a searchable database of grant opportunities.
I chatted to my friend Eve in Episode 20 all about her greener gift wrapping business, and how you could run a gift wrapping evening as a PTA fundraiser. Follow Eve on Facebook and Instagram, and contact her for more info on her gift wrapping courses. Many of her courses are run online, so if you wanted to learn better gift wrapping techniques that you could then demonstrate to your school community then that is possible wherever you live.
This podcast is for anyone and everyone who is interested in Parent Teacher Associations that raise money for schools and bring school communities together.
I'm a mum of 3 living in the south of England, and I've been involved in my school's PTA for over 8 years now. I have just stepped down as Chair, having been in that position for 7 years, and I am now a general member. I find it so helpful and interesting to share stories and ideas with other PTA volunteers so I thought I would start this podcast.
We will be talking about many different issues affecting PTAs, sharing advice and tips on fundraising events as well as offering help and support to those hard working volunteers up and down the country.
So grab your favourite cuppa, and settle down to have a listen........
